apGwilym: T R Williams All of my turned ornaments are hollowed first, dried and then capped with a contrasting wood such as cherry or walnut. I sometimes drill, saw or carve patterns in the sides of the globes to let more light through. Although most people associate ornaments with Christmas and the rebirth of light and the new year, wooden ornaments are suitable for hanging year round from windows, porches or exposed beams. I have started experimenting with multi-axis turning for the icicles and hope to have some of those pieces finished soon. Prices for ornaments start at $24 for a small simple piece to $55 or more. No two are exactly alike. For more information, e-mail me at TR@apgwilym-trwilliams.com |
