carving a spoon

Spoons

I offer a wide variety of hand-carved utensils, including spoons, dippers, ladles, tasting spoons, and salad sets.

I steam all pieces repeatedly before I apply the finish so the grain will not raise in use. All utensils have been treated with a nontoxic finish that is heat and moisture resistant.

Wash soon after use in warm sudsy water. Do not allow spoons to seethe in stews for extended periods. Rub with mineral oil to maintain finish.

See my price list for spoons and other utensils or contact me at TR@apgwilym-trwilliams.com

grouping of cherry cookspoons

Flat spoons of various lengths may be used for stirring, mixing cookie dough, general cooking.

slotted cherry spoon

Slotted spoons are great for dipping out boiled vegetables and straining spaghetti.

three cherry ladles

Medium and large dippers and ladles are good for stews and soups. Extra long dippers of 3 to 4 feet in length are good for burgoos, large chilis, and beer and wine making.

small salad set

Salad sets have been book-matched from one piece of wood, then hand carved. They make great wedding and Christmas gifts.

cherry tasting spoon

My tasting/cooling spoons were inspired by an old Shaker utensil designed to cool jams and jellies to test their thickness while cooking.
